Free Sims 2 Skins Downloads
- edited July 2014I use the skintones from MTS that are of different colors. My favorites are the ones that are metal or plastic - can't remember the creator but there are so few skintones available should be easy to find. And, yes, with these, my babies are born with genetic skintones that match one of the parents. All of the Sims and Households in my studio use the colors if you want to see what they look like. I'm no good at posting pictures on the website.

Now I have to find creature replacements I love. 8)

I've got the face problem with some not matching up right away and have to take them to the mirror which fixes it right away. I have to have a mod to control the Sim for a minute or two-

I have searched everywhere and ca't find something that works. Maybe you all have found something since your default eyes look good. I have played S2 since it came out until S3 came out. I have always heavily modded my games with very little problems, I am trying to get back all my cc , everything works properly except for the eyes :x It's so frustrating. I dwlnld the face overlay from shady on MTS cc eyes still don't show. I even dwnld one from somewhere else, same thing. WHAT am i doing wrong? I never had a problem before. I have even switched out for different defaults, still no go. If anyone can help I will be so grateful.

Which ones? - edited July 2014OH I like that idea! The skins and hairs tied to ethnicity and genetics. I'll have to pay more attention to your family pics to see how it plays out. I just wanted a little more detail, and those are very close to maxis skins. But the idea rocks. I'm going to bookmark that link for future reference.
Another thing that's frustrating me:
I would love to find Ephemoras skin done for creature default replacements. Because some of hers are nice, but not too much, ya know? Why hasn't anyone done a full default replacement set including the 4 base tones and the creatures? Maybe I'm just being too picky or asking to much. Maybe I need to re-familiarize myself with bodyshop. :oops:
I'm also a bit frustrated because I was messing around in bodyshop with skins earlier, actually got ticked and rage quit twice. I was trying to recolor Ephemoras soft skins to make the vampire skin. I was annoyed because I didn't see infant toddler and children in ea's vampire project file. :evil: Also, Ephemora has all the body types, and I didn't see that in the ea skin file either. So I wasn't sure what to do exactly. :?

I have played Sims since it first came out and fell in love! Hopefully there will be some friends added soon to my page. It is hard to find people that will interact on my page. This is sort of new to me, as I get lost in the game and forget to hit the website as much. But if you want a new friend I'm the gal.

This is just the tip of a huge ice burg.
I already had 8 CD-R's full of cc when I got back into sims 2 not long ago. But then the NEW downloading spree came! If I were new to this the first place I would probably head is TSR, be sure to run a good virus scan when done, and come up for air once every few days.
Also I don't use default anything, I like to choose the skin, hair, eyes, etc when creating my sim. However many of these same creators have option for default also.
I'm not into animal skins, witches, creatures etc. However I do have some oif the same skins in many alien colors, gold , silver, green , blue, purple etc.

lol I'm sorry I don't know if you want to know which eyes or which overlays but I' ll give both. the overlays , one from shady. I don't know if it's ok to link so I will just say the name.Shady's is the default face overlay on MTS2 and the other is ..not for S3 lol nm. But still the Shady one didn't work either. as for the eyes I've tried so far .well lots so if You want me to list them I will but I think you were just asking about the overlays. I remember using an overlay before so that it hides the iris of the EA eyes so the default ones look godd but I am just feeling like a toatl noob :oops: - edited July 2014

The only skin I've tried is NavetSea's skin for sims 2 but, imho, looked worse on the sim than EA's default. :oops:
So I'm just sticking with the eyes.

I've seen some that have too much dark in the white area or too big/too small iris area (for my taste). I tried to make some but really stink at it. - edited July 20140

And I've also thought about redoing lipsticks and eyes too. But I think if I can just do a skin first then I'll be better prepared for the more detailed work of eyes.
I think ea really should have released a bodyshop for ts3. I probably would have really gotten in to it. I hope they do something like that for ts4, since there will be no create a style, it would be nice if we could really personalize our simmies.
Plus I think a body shop and create a hood type thing would definitely bring a lot of people around to TS4. Give us something we can really dig into.

Did they work for you? They did in my game. I only had to open body shop to see if they replaced the defaults. I also jumped in the game to have a look too. I think they are subtle but much better than the ea ones. I like the skins and eyes that are subtle, but still more detailed than ea. I only download sims that are known to be cc free and mod free. I also use clean installer now, just be sure. I'm also really picky when it comes to cc, I need to make sure if I use it, that it is subtle and blends well in game. If I used all those lovely realistic and doll like sims skins, then I'd want to replace everything in my game to make it all more realistic. I placed the shady_sparkling-eyes-DEFAULTS.package file in this location (I made a folder for default eyes called 'Sparkling default eys')
Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection/Downloads/Sparkling default eyes
That's all I did. Just unzipped the eyes to that folder. It's one package. The package name is shady_sparkling-eyes-DEFAULTS.package
In my sparkling default eyes folder I also placed a text document with the name and address of where I got the eyes from. This way if someone asks I can easily copy and paste the link.
Quick question though, do you have enable custom content checked when you load your game? Or do you accidentally have it left at unchecked? Also, is it possible you already have a default replacement in your game? If so there might be a conflict there.
