If the PBX suffers a sudden power failure or if the system is reset for some reason and all system data is lost, it can be restored from the SD Memory Card. To save the system data to the SD Memory Card, either click the 'SD Memory Backup' icon, or exit KX-TDA Maintenance Console and click 'Yes' to save when prompted.

Components Used

The information in this document is based on these software and hardware versions:

  • Cisco Unified Attendant Console 10.5.1.1543
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.6.2.23900-10
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition (64-bit)

The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.

Configure

Complete these steps:

  1. Ensure that an application user is created, who will control the devices that are to be referenced by the operator for log in and Busy Lamp Field (BLF).

Note: Do not confuse this application user to the actual operator. The application user will act as a resource by the Telephony Service Provider (TSP) in order to gain device information/control when the need is raised by the operator.

This image shows the devices that this application includes in its controlled device section. Note that these include the device that operator will use for 'login' and for BLF.

This application user also needs to have these roles included:

    • Standard AXL API Access
    • Standard CTI Allow Calling Number Modification
    • Standard CTI Allow Call Park Monitoring
    • Standard CTI Allow Control of All Devices
    • Standard CTI Allow Reception of SRTP Key Material
    • Standard CTI Enabled

This user would be be referenced for log in via the Cisco TAPI client (TSP) to CallManager. Make sure all required devices are entered in the controlled device section for this user. If that is not done, the login to Cisco Unifed Attendant Console standard client will fail.

  2. Double-click the installation file.
  3. Enter the application user's User ID and password that was provisioned in step 1. Click Next.
  4. Choose the appropriate language from the drop-down list. Click Next.
  5. Enter the Cisco Presence Server details. Click Next.

Note: Treat this login screen more like a Jabber login screen, as you do not need to enter the Cisco Presence Admin ID and password. Instead, enter the UID and password of the operator who will administer the Cisco Unified Attendant Console standard software. This user needs to be enabled/licensed for IM and Presence so that appropriate Presence information can be fetched from the Cisco Presence/IM and Presence node.

  6. Choose the appropriate installation location. Click Next.
  7. Review the information entered in the previous steps. If all looks good, click Next in order to complete the installation.
  8. Reboot the Windows PC once this installation is complete. Click Finish in order to initiate the PC restart.
  9. Once the PC is up after the reboot, double-click the Cisco Unified Attenant Console standard 10.5 icon in order to launch the software. Enter the extension of the operator.

In this example, the operator UID is 'nupurk' and the extension is '1008'. As soon as the extension is entered, TSP resolves the device information. This only comes with the application User ID which the TSP uses (this comes from step 1) in order to control this device. All that needs to be completed once the device information is found is to click the device. Log in happens automatically.

Note: The red warning is standard and expected. It is a reference for the operator to ensure that they select the correct extension.

Verify

If all goes as expected per the steps in the Configure section, this log in screen displays. The directory population with the Presence information displays as soon as the sync with CallManager is complete. The directory sync process is usually very fast.

I have a console application that loads dynamically the assemblies found in the deployment folder. This works after we publish the app, but in debug mode we do not have any referenced assemblies in the output folder, from where those assemblies should be loaded. Side note: some of those assemblies come from referenced nuget packages. So, when trying to debug the app, no assemblies are loaded simply because they are not there. How should we develop with such a scenario? Thanks!

commented Oct 14, 2017

We've run into this too - silently this week something in the .NET install script changed and our unit tests which depend on dynamically loading DLLs at runtime now fail

@livarcocc - sounds like differences between dotnet build and dotnet publish. Can you answer?

Yes, sounds like the difference between build and publish. When invoking dotnet build we do not copy package references to the build output in order to safe build time. Instead, these assemblies are loaded from the package cache.

When you publish the application, in that case, we copy those assemblies to the publish output folder. Though keep in mind, that if your app is a portable app, we will not copy shared framework assemblies. If it is a self-contained app, we will copy everything.

@Aaronontheweb I am interested in your comment about the install script changing and breaking your scenario. I don't see how that's possible, unless it started downloading a different version of the CLI, but the behavior I described above has been the behavior since 1.0.0.

@livarcocc I suppose what you described makes sense, however I'm still stuck on trying to debug my .NET Core app. Any ideas, a workaround?

commented Oct 24, 2017

@livarcocc Would it be possible that upon debugging (some setting?), this to be performed from a 'debug publish' folder, and not from the folder where it was built?

Console Application Tutorial

I mean build is one thing and debug should be another thing.

commented Oct 31, 2017

@livarcocc should this be moved to either CLI or SDK?

commented Oct 31, 2017

Sure, move to the CLI please, we can continue helping @ioancrisan there.
